My Feet Are Going But I'm Getting No Where Fast.

I have just a few more hours left in my day and I'm bushed. Morning classes were substituted today with trash day gathering at 7:30 AM and a shower. We had brunch today (my hubby has been working the third shift for the past few days and continues for another five more) at 11 AM, pets were walked and fed all before 9 AM. During this time I got 90% of all our dirty dishes and all our our silverware washed. (yeah me!)  School today started at noon.  My youngest flew through his as usual.  My middle one (sigh) bless her, she wore me out so bad I about fell asleep at the table.  Third grade I've noticed has been hard so far for all my kids.  Shocker alert.  My oldest did her's during the day. (GASP!)  My night owl wanted to be online at night so she finished way early. :D  So proud of all my kids. I did forget to mention that during trash day gathering my middle child busted open the used cat litter bag all over the driveway and failed to tell me so I could not only rebag wha
How are you all doing today.  We've been very busy.  We have been baking, schooling, crafting and idea crunching. :)  I've got the pattern for the small Krampus dolls complete and have started to cut and sew.  I'm finishing up next with our weather skeletons (akin to weather rocks) and should have them posted by the end of the week on our "for sale" page on Pinterest.  We even had a drawing give a way this week thanks to my lovely, talented daughter.  We hope to do this once a month so keep watching.  We will do different give a ways on different media so you'll have to check out all six.  Easter Egg Hunt!     I find this rather amusing that I've installed an assistant app on my phone but obviously haven't used it properly since I have failed to keep to any schedules.  Oh the life of a procrastinator, dreamer, mother, etc.  I really need a shock collar to keep me focused. LOL  Just kidding.  I do keep to a schedule, just not a strict one.  Some da
On this rainy day I am contiplating which crafts to do.  Home school is first (of course), then a comfort food for lunch (oatmeal).  Naps will follow and my craft day begins. :)  I might work on Krampus, mice, or a few other ideas I'm toying with.  I hope your day is just as productive. SKO!
It's been a long time since I've posted last.  We have now got our physical shop closed and have opened up our digital store.  No official web site yet as I can't find one for free.  Be on the look out on our Facebook page for lots of up coming videos, contests, interviews and showcased items.  We've just updated our Pinterest page "In Stock For Sale".  I just have a fraction up of our inventory.  I will be posting more each Sunday.  More crafts are coming and kitty cams, family vlogs and DIY's.  We will be bringing back our Mad Medicine corner and our fairy videos (we are working on the fairy set.  We are also starting a line of Krampus dolls soon to be available.  I'm so excited to be organized again and I'm able to move forward in correcting our errors and discovering new paths.  :)  Walk along with us and become part of the SKO family.

Hello All, Getting organized and posting on Facebook items for sale.  We have started production of our videos as well.  We are very excited about the new things we are doing.  Having an Estore will give us more flexability to go to cons and fairs.  Keep reading and watching to see what will happen next.
First day of home school went well.  Got some more cleaning done to the house and I'm a little tired.  I have to watch that I don't over do it.  I'm still getting over being sick.    Starting on a new web eCommerce page today.  Then by the end of the week I should be ready to publish and open our online estore!  Yeah!  Going to edit and post another vlog tonight and see what the kitties are up to.  I'll post again tomorrow. S.K.O.  No Worries!
Just got back from our second trip to Irvine.  We got a lot more found on this trip.  I was able to look around the museum part of the Historical Society while he dug in the books.  I found this awesome skelleton which I posted on my Facebook page.  They had so many things that we use to carry in our brick and mortar shop.   It was funny, I was going through in my mind pricing everything.  I still love the history behind all the items.  They had an awesome collection of doctors items with medicine bottles, kitchen items, sewing machines and so on.  I grew up going to museums all the time and could live in them.  That's why I loved our shop.  I still have it via internet and I do get to travel with my hubby now and visit other brick and mortars and hopefully find items for our e shop. :)  Go check out the two photos at my Steampunk Kollectic Oddities FB.  No Worries! S.K.O.
Well, we are set up at home now.  Getting the web page finished.  I have a new respect for web page builders.  I have three items on craigslist and finishing up my ebay account to start with four items on there.  Once the web page is done there will be  a shop page with four boxes.  Each one will take you to a section of the e store with twelve items on each page.  That's a total of 48 items. I also have updated my Pinterest account.  I will be adding new items on there as well.  Now to get the paper work sorted out and accounts straightened.  Life is settling down finally. :)  I miss my friends coming in to say "Hi.", but not missing paying the overhead a month. No worries all. S.K.O. (Steampunk Kollectic Oddities)
I'm so excited!  I get the key to our new shop tomorrow!  I can start moving in as soon as I do a bit of clean up.  I'll need to scrub the back room as it will be my home school class room/break room/craft room and maybe gaming room.  So excited. :D  I'll start moving this week  I'll take photos and video of us packing here at the old shop as well as photos of us moving into the new shop and setting up.  Yeah!  This is a new chapter in my life and I'm excited about it.  I feel I'll be able to be more productive and more into the community as we will working with the Lyric Theater.
Well, we have a shop now.  We go in next week to sign papers and start to move in.  It's right next to the funeral home. :D  We've also decided to move out by the end of the month.   FUN for me. :)  I'm a glutton for moving.  I knew in the back of my mind there was a reason not to move those three big book cases upstairs.  Now, I can use them in our shop. :)  I will not have display cases.  I right away need to be on the look out for at least three hutches or locking displays for a few things we have.  I'll keep you posted and take lots of footage.
Sorry for the gap in blogs.  I've had to crunch numbers and do some real heart felt thinking.  We are relocating the shop.  Two more stores have closed in our current location so it will pretty much be a ghost town.  We've struggled to keep the shop open because we love our extended family.   I just want to say, "We are NOT CLOSING, just relocating." :) We are moving the shop to  Loudon, TN.  My husband is starting a fish house with his friends their also.  We will still live in Lenoir City, but the ecconomy just isn't down town anymore.  Most all the shops were hit hard this past winter and struggled to make ends meat.  There are also 5 lovely tax preparers down town so from Jan to June there is absolutly no parking.  I've just started our web site and a good data base system for the shop.  We will be doing our vlogs and interviews at my home in the garauge where we will have our set as well as my crafting area.  It's a brand new adventure for me as I
Hello all.  I hope this day finds you well.  We love our shop as most of you know.  We love to make it feel like home for all who come in.  We have an awesome extended family (consignees, gamers, shoppers).  It's as important to me as my immediate family. We have been open for an entire year.  We have been through some rough patches but have pulled through. We have been blessed and graced by our Higher Power.  We have some things to think about in the following weeks.  We are looking into a building that we might be able to buy and eventually own. This would be perfect as it would fit all that we want to do in it.  However, if we are unable (through the help of an investor) buy the building, we will have to fall on our plan "B" to keep the store alive.  It would mean we would have to move to a smaller building.  I don't know how that will work, but we will just have to make do if necessary.  I wish it wasn't so hard for mom and pop stores to stay afloat let a
Yeah!  We have a blog page now. :)  We will do daily posts of news, sales, crafts and classes.
