Fond Memories of Ohio
I am going to start a new line of blogs here. It will be called, "From the Vaults of My Mind". This first one hits me from my latest trip to Ohio for a class reunion. Do I/Will I miss Ohio? As much as I sometimes miss and long for the long dusk evenings...... those summer nights when the sun's warmth is finally set and that moment on the cool uncumbered breeze you can smell the heavy sweet scent wafting in from the corn fields. When you see a storm roll in from the distance and the exact moment it hits the sweet fresh rain comes pounding down. Who knew that rain could smell clean, sweet and fresh with just a hint of earth worm. One can see for miles with the occasional clump of trees, a house or a barn. It seems every bit of land that is big enough has a token pond. Farmlands spread everywhere. Not like in Tennessee where they are dotted in and between the valleys. And the old buildings....... Where some places would rather tear down and build new, Ohio
